How earning works

Passport Points are earned when you make a qualifying purchase through a Passport partner and the transaction is tracked back to your account. Points are credited after the partner confirms the transaction, usually 7–30 days later. Points have no expiry.

Five ways to earn

  1. Shop with partners. Browse partners on the Passport website or via the browser extension. Click through and complete your purchase.
  2. Use the browser extension. Install Points Alert. It notifies you on partner sites and activates tracking.
  3. Refer friends. Share your referral link. Earn 500 points when your friend earns 1,000 from valid shopping.
  4. Activate the Accelerator. Opt in monthly to multiply the points you earned the previous month.
  5. Top up. Purchase points directly to top up your balance for redemption.

Set up the Points Alert browser extension

  1. Open the Points Alert page on the Passport website (or your browser's extension store).
  2. Click Add to browser. Supported browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari (desktop, plus select iOS versions).
  3. Pin the extension to your toolbar.
  4. Sign in to your Passport account through the extension.

Using it: When you visit a partner site, the extension shows a pop-up. Click Activate Points before checkout, then shop as normal. Points are credited once the partner confirms.

Important: The extension must be activated before you complete checkout. Activating it after the purchase will not retroactively track the transaction.

Refer a friend

  1. Sign in and visit passport.travel/referrals.
  2. Copy your unique referral link.
  3. Share it with a friend by message, email, or social media.

You earn 500 Passport Points when your referred friend signs up and earns at least 1,000 points from valid partner shopping. There is no limit on the number of referrals.

Not eligible: self-referrals, multiple-account creation, paid ads using referral links, spam.

Rewards are credited 7–10 business days after the referred member hits 1,000 points.

Opt in to the Points Accelerator

The Accelerator is a monthly opt-in feature that multiplies the points you earned the previous month.

  1. Visit the Passport Points Accelerator page.
  2. Choose your multiplier: Silver 2× or 4×, Gold 6× or 8×, Platinum 10× or 12×.
  3. At the start of each month, you will receive an email with the cost and total payable.
  4. Approve the offer to apply the boost — boosted points are credited instantly.
  5. Opt out before the 5th of the month to skip that cycle.

Only completed and validated partner transactions qualify. Pending or refunded transactions are excluded. You can change your multiplier any time; changes take effect from the next cycle.

Top up your points

  1. Sign in and go to Points → Top Up.
  2. Use the slider to choose between 10,000 and 200,000 points per transaction.
  3. Review your new balance and the total payable in your local currency.
  4. Click Purchase Points to complete payment.

Points are credited instantly (allow up to 15 minutes for display refresh). Your first top-up purchase has a 24-hour approval period.

Rules:

  • Minimum 10,000 points · Maximum 200,000 points per transaction
  • Top-up points are non-refundable and non-transferable
  • Top-up points do not count toward tier qualification, referral bonuses, or promotional thresholds
  • Top-up points are not eligible for Accelerator multipliers

Earning FAQs

How long until my points show up?

Retail and travel partner points are credited 7–30 days after the partner confirms your transaction. Accelerator and Top-Up points are credited instantly.

My purchase did not track. What went wrong?

Common reasons: the extension was not activated before checkout, you were not signed in to Passport, an ad-blocker blocked the tracking link, or you used a coupon code that invalidated tracking. See Troubleshooting.

Do points expire?

No. Once credited, your points stay in your account indefinitely.

Why did my referral reward not arrive?

Confirm the referred friend signed up via your link, verified their email, and earned at least 1,000 points from eligible partners. Allow 7–10 business days after they hit the threshold.

Are top-up points eligible for the Accelerator?

No. Only points earned from eligible partner transactions count toward the Accelerator.

Can I refund a top-up purchase?

No. Top-up purchases are non-refundable once processed.

What is the Points Alert extension and do I need it?

It is a free browser extension that detects partner sites and activates tracking. It is the easiest way to ensure your purchases earn points, but you can also shop via partner links on the Passport site.
